First, let's clear up the URL.

Coffee Code Chronicles
This common—and esoteric in the sense that you see it a lot in the computer engineering space and almost nowhere else—way of shorting long words, and saving keystrokes may be unfamiliar to you, the reader. In computer engineering, common ones one may encounter include the following:
- a11y ("accessibility", "a-eleven-y" and not to be confused with "ally")
- i18n ("internationalization", "i-eighteen-n")
- l10n ("localization", "i-ten-n")
I even use the notation for my GitLab OSS project, another15y; a short play on Another Caffeinated Day.
Another Caffeinated Day was my blog of some 18 years that was a showcase of all sorts of nerd topics, and Coffee, Code, and Chronicles aims to align to that venerable blog. The blog is not dead, just not online. Backed up, all the data and posts, and the platform, blojsom, remains something I steward from time to time. One day I may get it back online and in the Cloud.
Coffee
Besides the obvious, I like Coffee. Another Caffeinated Day's "tag line" was "d100 pots of coffee." It played on my love of table-top RPGs and my love of simple, black, no sugar, and bold coffees. And my almost 30 year love of the Java programming language.
Code
Java, the programming language, is a passion of mine as are most thing adjacent to Java are. It's my first language that I learned after I left my undergraduate program for Computer Science in the 80s. In the 80s I was programming BASIC on a TRS-80 CoCo and in high school on an Apple II (along with Logo). In my first year of undergraduate school I learn Pascal and COBOL. I transferred schools pursued a Business major and feel into my other passion, almost by accident: Film and TV production.
Somewhere in my 10 years of scouting locations and producing crime drama I learned about Java and it reignited my passion for programming (remember Roaster for MacOS?). I got a certificate in Java Programming 1.0.2. I left Film and TV to get my Masters in Computer Science and got married. And the rest is history.
I'm still passionate about Java.
Chronicles
Lastly, this blog may also be something of a narrative sink for my RPG games and characters. I'm playing now after decades of "Always the GM/DM." And playing one of my favorite games: Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. Fourth edition. 4e.
Start the labels.
Look forward to seeing you in the comments. Maybe this blog is just in time for AtoZ.
